Rocky Point Park needs you! Help remove invasive ivy & blackberry...

Green Teams of Canada engages Canadians in hands-on environmental action projects, like planting native trees and removing invasive plant species. These projects reduce social isolation, give people a sense of belonging, raise their environmental awareness and make them feel like they are really making a difference on their local green spaces, by increasing biodiversity. Focusing on action is vital in
addressing climate change.

Saturday Oct 26th from 9.45am-1pm at Rocky Point Park to remove invasive English Ivy & blackberry (it's killing our native species). To sign up click:

NO EXPERIENCE needed. All ages and abilities welcome. Tools, gloves and refreshments will be provided

What you get:

Socialize and meet new people
Learn about local environmental issues (how climate change is impacting local parks)
Get exercise
Enhance and improve a local park space and increase biodiversity
Skill development and career experience
VOLUNTEER HOURS (We're looking at you high school students!!)
Yummy refreshments (I just might bake english ivy shaped cookies!)
